A few weeks back, I posted an image of a Flatiron building in New York City. There are flatiron buildings in San Francisco, but none of them is as grand as the one in New York City. This building is known as Columbus Tower, though it is not much of a tower. I like this building, though, because it is unique with its green copper top and siding, and you should see it at night. The illumination is rather extravagant and majestic.
I took this image with a polarizing filter without knowing much about its effect. Also, I was too lazy to replace the filter with a regular protective filter to compare. This was about 8:30 am and the sunlight was coming from the left side of this image. So, there should not have been many positive gain from using the polarizing filter, except, perhaps, the reflections from all those windows of the flatiron building and surrounding buildings might have been too blinding without the polarizing filter.
