There are nothing like beautiful bright shades of blue that represent a summer image. Here, I was on a ferry boat out of Boston Harbor (near New England Aquarium) with Boston Harbor Islands tour company, approaching Little Brewster Island. Leaving Boston, the weather was rather unimpressive but we beat the rain clouds traveling towards the Atlantic. This photo was taken at around 2pm and the sun was behind me. Great time to use a polarizing filter. I’ve owned a polarizer for a while now, but it was only recently that I started to take advantage of its powerful color enhancing property. I also recently changed my work flow. I used to manage all of my raw files in Apple Photos, but I decided not to and start using Nikon Capture NX-D. Since I use a Nikon camera, it seems only fitting and beneficial if I used Nikon photo editor. One of the tools I really like is Sharpening, which increases contrasts of edges. My camera D90 does not have such hardware feature, so it is very helpful. In fact, my landscape and cityscape images look so much better to me that sometimes I feel I might be abusing the tool a bit too much. I would love to see how this feature in hardware when I upgrade my camera, hopefully soon.
